We offer a four-week fun and interactive camp for children in grades 1-3 who find printing or other fine motor activities challenging. The camp is run by an experienced pediatric occupational therapist. You will receive a summary report identifying individual children’s strengths, areas of need, and suggestions for further skill development.
Your child will benefit from co-operative games and crafts to practice the skills needed for hand functioning. This camp is designed for children who may be experiencing mild to moderate delays in fine motor development, or children who would benefit from extra practice.
The camp places an emphasis on:
grasp development
formation of lower-case letters
legible printing
copying shapes and letters
using school tools (pencils, scissors, glue)
hand manipulation skills
eye-hand coordination
strength
Our picky eaters group is coming soon! Let us know if you are interested, and we will contact you when more information is available.
A child’s ears, eyes and inner ear (balance) must work together efficiently so they can learn, pay attention, process information, and coordinate movement. Integrated listening systems (iLs) therapy can assist your child with re-training their brain to become better at integrating this multi-sensory information.
Growing Changes uses Unyte-iLs products, which help re-wire a patient’s brain through specific and repeated stimulation, a concept known as neuroplasticity. Similar to how you can build strength and endurance with physical exercise, we can build neurological pathways and synaptic activity at any age.
Our products train for brain/body integration through a staged approach, starting with the fundamentals of sensory integration, and then extending through more complex cognitive functions, including language, self-expression and social skills.
We have Unyte-iLs units available for monthly rental, which can be a great way for families to explore the system. Our occupational therapists will also assist and help manage the program. Contact us for more information.
